About the Band
Van Goat is an Oakland five-piece that plays self-described "swing punk" — a joyful collision of big-band-era swing, ragtime, southern jazz, surf, and punk. Dual lead vocalists Aidan Ward (guitar/clarinet) and Lindsay Alexis (trombone) front a band whose sets leap from early-1900s classics to '50s and '60s hits to originals.
Veterans of Noise Pop and a 2019 European tour, they released the album Nobody Cares in 2021. They're also a returning favorite: their 2024 Sunset by the Lake set had the whole lawn singing along, and this is their third appearance in the series.

This concert features a Family Fun Zone with activities for kids including bounce houses and more—arrive early to enjoy the fun before the music starts!
What to bring: Blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets are encouraged. Food trucks and beverage vendors will be available on-site.
Parking: Free parking is available at Pleasant Hill City Hall and surrounding areas.
